  • Alena Kuznetsova is a professional multidisciplinary artist born in 1986. Lives and works in Kyiv, Ukraine. Participated in local and international projects, author of 14 solo shows.


  • “My creative work includes painting, graphics, land art, video installation, and ceramic sculpture. In my artistic practice, I explore the concepts of movement and changes, the cycling phenomenon of life and death, which are mainly felt in the context of events taking place in Ukraine from 2014 to nowadays.”


  • The paintings and sculptures are privately owned and in collections in Ukraine, the USA, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Spain, Hong Kong, and France.

Working on further with my fav painting size: ~150*100 cm ❤️ Yep, back to the thing I’m really good at: oil abstract 🤩 Oil on canvas, work in progress, but really close to the end. Love when the painting is a little bit “unfinished”. Just remembered my basic skill: oil painting when the canvas stands vertically, working with abstract color, like painting the clouds ☁️Searching for the exact colour gamma, responding my feelings, energy and mood is always exciting (this turned out to be an autumn gamma) 🍁 #workinprogress #art #redabstract

Work in progress. I’ve been making this artwork that is very similar to #kuznetsovaballetmecanique series, also 80x200 cm, but the only one horizontal, since summer with some pauses, cause every layer should dry well. Stay tuned to see what’s happening next 🙌

Terra Ukraїna, 65*130 cm, oil, acrylic, spray paint, texture paste in canvas, 2022 ☘️🥀☠️🐟 This work is one of the first from Flowers or Explosions series: it was started in summer 2022 according to the photo date. It is rather laconic and quick, and has elements reminding landscape by color and texture. Ukraine is well-known as a Europe’s breadbasket. Tones of wheat, rye, corn and sunflowers are grown here, because of black soil. Terra - is land, ground which is suffering much because of the full-scale invasion of russia to the territory of Ukraine. Territory - is not just square km, but one’s houses, fields, farming dominions… Also, wild forests and meadows, which are the house for many living creatures. The war harms not only humans and economy, but ecology, polluting soil and water with armature and toxic fuel, changing big ecosystems like it was with Kakhovka tragedy in 2023… I remember I was making this painting in Kyiv, when there were no Patriots yet and every siren could be the last because of russian shellings on our residential buildings in every town or city. It was my way of dealing with anger, fear and shock of the first war months: focusing on my values, my strength and my ultimate beliefs. ✅ Available. DM to purchase. This paintin
New format 80*200 cm is in progress! This painting will probably refer to Ballet Mechanique series (again!) and will be in a horizontal (landscape) orientation. To be honest, I’ve missed bright colours! 🌈 How to deal with such a big format in abstract approach? In this case, I use working without a sketch till the moment I feel the composition and feel confident. After - I make a photo of the stage, and continue my search on my laptop, experimenting with different layers. 🔥🔥Artist’s life in Ukraine be like🔥🔥 (All within 1 week): 📆 three new encounters and studio visits; one of them from @forsagallery 🖼️ stretching two big canvases on flash 💪 a rearrangement of artworks in the studio two times a week 👽 become a “psycho” and do correct actions without expectations 😨 failures: of my offline course start and first attempt of driving exam. And that was okay) 🤩 a positive answers from galleries curators on my projects 🎨 remaking a painting. I was awful and I hated it. It took about 4 hours and finally I’m pleased and know what topic I’m going to focus on 👨‍🔧 mixer replacement at the studio: finished successfully! 📺 an amazingly beautiful and interesting Netflix serial Ripley (thriller, b/w) at one night 🧗‍♂️ new simple and small climbing gym with a rooftop 👩‍💻 applied to several art residences in Ukraine 🧘‍♀️ if you understand the origin of your emotions it becomes much more easier to observe them and they pass quickly 🧑‍🎨 trying to focus on my art that is in process since summer - new works - and it was really hard. Therefore, an art object turned out to be an ideal solution.
